Amsterdam is running out of spaces
to park its bicycles, so the city has just announced a plan to excavate
a 7,000-space bicycle garage under the waterfront.
Amsterdam also plans to create two new floating islands with space for 2000 bikes each in order to reach a total of 21,500 new bike spaces around the station by 2030.
According to the 2014 Long-Term Cycle Plan, 200 million euros will be invested on bicycle infrastructure.
